I went into the tourney with a first round bye in the
14th week by grabbing the #2 seed.
had a first round bye in the #cgleague tournament

Phx Slam, a team I lost to earlier this season.

I also won the Blowout Award of the week!
Having the game with the biggest gap between

(None of the views/opinions stated below are opinions of CU, the University, or the football team)

The Colorado Buffaloes 2009 football season ended today with a 21-28 loss to our hated rival, N***aska. Hawkins and the Buffs couldn't win it for the graduating seniors or the program in much need of a victory. Just the day before, CU let everybody know that Coach Dan Hawkins would be returning to coach next year, prompting much outrage from fans, alumni, sports analysts, and current students. Including myself! I am
Very upset with how the AD, Chancellor, and Presiden are handling the situation. I do realize the cost to buyout Hawkins is upwards of $3.1 million, money that CU doesn't have for that. Nevertheless, it sends an awful message to the Big 12, the country and Buffs fans. CU does not seem interested in winning. Hawkins better fix this or I bet he is canned midpoint next season.

Personally, I think CU is letting Hawk coach next season, let his son Cody graduate from CU, and then kick Coach Hawk to the street. By this time, the buyout will have lowed substantially.

Here are a couple things both positive/negative that I noticed about our football games:

(When I say "we", I am not including myself)
1. We are the only team in the whole damn FBS that will "Boo" an injured player from the opposing team. And for this I am very embarrassed to call myself a Buffalo.
2. We "boo" the team and our coach staff whenever a timeout is called, no matter the reason it is called.
3. We chant "Fire Hawkins! Fire Hawkins!" right after the announcement that CU will keep Coach Hawk for another season.
4. We "boo" any player that does not may a play. We also say derogatory things to both players of both teams and fans of the opposing team.
----I am very embarrassed to be associated with these actions, especially #1----

(Things I love about football games)
1. This isnt intramurals brother! This is D1 football!
2. Ralphie and Chip are the two big things we cheer for
3. Our stadium is gorgeous
4. You are part of something bigger than yourself
5. You are part of a team
6. It's D1 football
7. Season tickets!
8. Also, with the school I chose to attend, I can also try out for the team...because we are THAT bad. haha.
9. There are many more, but these are enough for now.

A "very nice" Nebraska fan told me, "We have to be frisked before we go into Folsom?! Only in Boulder" -- and my response to that was a big fat grin. :D

Good Luck to Coach Hawk in 2010 and GOO BUFFS!

Week 10 Yahoo Fantasy Football #cgleague

I am really getting tired of losing.
I was projected 116 points and only got 77.54.
I am now 6-4, and on the playoff bubble. The Buffs
used to be a lock for the #cgleague playoffs, not im struggling
to stay afloat. Hopefully, my players can turn it around next week.

Colorado vs. Kansas State -- CU Herd goes to the Little Apple

This was a great trip. Colleen and I embarked on our trip to Kansas on Friday the 23rd at 7:00am from the Koenig Alumni Building at University and Broadway. We took a cab from Will Ville to the Alumni Center for about $7.00. That is a really cheap taxi ride!

In a matter of 5 minutes, the scenary went from flat snowless plains,
to tons of snow on the ground!

Welcome to Kansas! Right as we entered Kansas,
we went through a truck scale.

We made it to Aggie-Ville (their version of Pearl Street),
where we had dinner at Pizza Hut and applauded by Kansas State fans
for beating U of Kansas the previous weekend.

We crashed the Kansas State Homecoming parade by
singing our fight song and cheering for CU!
This is a picture of their band playing in the parade.

Here we are on our way to Pizza Hut. Kansas State had some
nice paper-mache creations of Ralphie.

After dinner, the 21+ crowd headed for the bars.
(Drinking is the only thing to do in Kansas apparently). Colleen and I headed for
Kansas State to check out the University and goof around. Below are some pictures.

Here is a picture of Ralphie getting a nice ride in a cart.
Supposedly Kansas State's Homecoming Theme was "The Frontier".

Colleen and I spent some time at the "Library". LOL.

Here is a picture of Colleen lying in an egg.
It was some sort of  modern art on the Kansas State Campus.

At 9:30pm, we boarded up the bus and headed to Junction City
to stay at our hotel, the DaysInn. This bus-ride was about 30 minutes away.
We spent the whole ride singing every type of song imaginable. A bus favorite
was the good ol' white person theme song. LOL. Don't Stop Believing by Journey.

When we got to the hotel, we got our room and hang out at the pool.
We played some pool with some Seniors. We each won once.

The next morning we woke up at 6:45am and headed to Kansas State for the game!

Gameday!  Here is an alum cookin' up some burgers and hot dogs.
There was a ton of food! and sooo good!

Here is me and Colleen at the tailgate!
It was put on by the CU Herd and Alumni Association.
We met a bunch of really cool alums and fans.

Here is the game ticket! Rough game. We lost 6-20.

And of course a Pano shot of Kansas State.

After the game, we headed back to Aggie-Ville, and later left at 8:00pm.
We got back to the Alumni Building at 3:30am. Colleen and I then caught a cab home.

Week 4 Yahoo Fantasy Football #cgleague / BFL Badge

Here it is! Week 4! The Buffs (my fantasy team, not the CU Buffs) are back! We are currently 4-1 after beating the Mr. Potato Heads into Mashed Potatoes. The final score was 110.07 -- 85.83. But of course this win doesn't come with some controversy. Long story short,
my opponent didn't have the defense that he wanted started, and he swears that he submitted the defense he wanted. I allowed @SteveGarufi, the manager of our league to allow the change for my opponent. At first I was a little worried as to how this would affect my match-ups. In the end, his second choice D, didn't help much more than the Buffalo Bills' D. Next week I have the Hotlanta NFL Divas. She is on a roll and getting the hang of fantasy football. Good luck to her, but I am going to own!

And this is my Winner's Badge for winning the BFL League
for week 2 where I went 14-2 over the course of the weekend.

Blogger Football Pick' em League Week 3

**The teams I picked and lost are in RED**

**The teams I picked and won are in BLUE**

Tampa Bay @ Washington (The Redskins are embarrassed and are out to redeem themselves after losing to Detroit snapping Detroit’s 19 game losing streak)

NY Giants @ Kansas City (This is a joke…right?)

Cincinnati @ Cleveland (Bengals are hot, and the Browns are having QB issues. Quinn benched in favor of Anderson)

Oakland @ Houston (Russell is still the worst QB in the league)

Tennessee @ Jacksonville (Titans are in trouble. They will be 0-4 after this week and miss the playoffs)

Seattle @ Indianapolis (Colts’ O is too much for the Seahawks’ D)

Detroit @ Chicago (Detroit is 1-19 in it’s last 20 games. The odds are stacked against them)

Baltimore @ New England (PATS are looking to turn it around, and I see Flacco being held in check. Tom Brady goes ballistic. 27/35 315 3 TDs.)

Buffalo @ Miami (Bills are looking like contenders in the AFC East. Edwards has a 92.0 passer rating all time against the Dolphins and the Dolphins have Chad Henne from Michigan, a rookie in at QB)

NY Jets @ New Orleans (Matchup of the week. I just think Saints’ O is just too explosive)

St. Louis @ San Francisco (Glenn Coffee is going to grind out some yards and help Shaun Hill win this one big)

Dallas @ Denver (Denver’s D is playing well and Romo hasn’t looked good as of late)

San Diego @ Pittsburgh (The Bolts are looking good. Rivers to Vincent Jackson all day!)

Monday Night:
Green Bay @ Minnesota (I don’t care what Favre says, he IS out for revenge)
Combined MNF Score = 45

12 -- 2

Blogger Football Pick' em League Week 2

We are on to Week 2 of Blogger picks! Week 3 of the NFL regular season.
This week the picks include my reasons for each pick.

**The teams I picked and lost are in RED.**

**The teams I picked and won are in BLUE.**

Washington @ Detroit (Detroit has lost 19 straight)

Green Bay @ St. Louis (Rams' offense is struggling)
San Francisco @ Minnesota (Sorry 49ers, but AP and that old guy, can I say more? )
Atlanta @ New England (Brady has alot to prove this week after struggles in his first 2 starts)
Tennessee @ NY Jets (Titans are 0-2 and the Jets beat the Pats last week)
Kansas City @ Philadelphia (top D in the league vs. an offense with injuries/can't get going)
NY Giants
@ Tampa Bay (Giants' D, that is all)
Cleveland @ Baltimore (Browns haven't scored an offensive TD in 28+ quarters. Ravens are pass happy, no chance for my man, Brady Quinn)
Jacksonville
@ Houston (Maurice Jones Drew needs to prove something after a slow first couple games and he is facing the league's worst rush D)
Chicago @ Seattle (Bears' D is scary even without Brian Urlacher)
New Orleans @ Buffalo (Can anyone stop Drew Brees and the Saints?)
Pittsburgh @ Cincinnati (I think that win against the Packers was a fluke..)
Denver @ Oakland (Jamarcus Russell is terrible. Worst passer completion % in the league)
Miami @ San Diego (time for Rivers to end their 7 loss streak to the Dolphins)
Indianapolis @ Arizona (I hate the Colts, but its Peyton Manning and Dallas Clark)

Monday Night:
Carolina @ Dallas (Jerry Jones is pissed...that is all.)
Combined MNF Score = 56

14-2

Week 2 Yahoo Fantasy Football #cgleague

Week #2 against @SteveGarfui's Garbage Cans was a blowout! I am now 2-0!
The managerial call that was key on my part was starting Denver's D
against the Cleveland Browns as opposed to Philadelphia's D vs. The New Orleans Saints.
The Eagles got lit up by Drew Brees. And Denver was able to hold Brady Quinn and the Browns to only 6 points, with no offensive touchdowns.
I ended up beating Steve 143.29 - 86.05.
I again was the #cgleague leader in points for the week!
And am still #1 in the league!
Good luck next week Steve and good luck to me in my game against PHX Slam managed by @PhilLadden

CU Buffaloes vs. Wyoming Cowboys

THE BUFFALOES ARE 1-2!! THE BUFFALOES ARE 1-2!! GREAT WIN! 24-0
Lets hope this translates to success on the road against West Virgina.

Pano shot of Wyoming vs. Colorado at kickoff.

The end zone at kickoff. Disappointed in the CU fans.

There we go! At the end of the first quarter.
I guess everyone decided to get out of bed and show up!

Legacy Game: Wyoming vs. Colorado. Throwback Uniforms.
CU wore silver helmets, silver pants, and gold jerseys.
